Clinical Research Group on Inflammatory Amyloidosis (AA) Sorbonne University

AA amyloidosis is a rare heterogeneous disease related to the deposition in tissues of an inflammation protein: Serum Amyloid A protein (SAA). It complicates chronic inflammatory states and has a significant morbidity/mortality. Our research group will be a unique structure composed of all the clinical and medico-technical services involved in the management of AA amyloidosis at Sorbonne University. Its objectives are to create an epidemiological database, to develop more efficient diagnostic and monitoring tools, to better understand the pathophysiology and to set up therapeutic trials. Already supported by the French Amyloidosis Patient Association, it aims to be the national and European leader on AA amyloidosis by the number of patients included and the synergy of all specialists involved.
